“Mangsa patutnya dihantar ke rumah nenek” – Anak 4 Tahun Meninggal Lepas Tertinggal Dalam Kereta Selama 10 Jam Ayah Kerja

Seorang kanak-kanak berusia empat tahun maut setelah ayahnya tanpa sengaja membiarkannya di dalam kereta selama sepuluh jam di tempat kerjanya dekat Bukit Makmur, Sungai Lalang, Sungai Petani pada 13 Ogos.

Ayahnya hanya menyedari anak perempuannya berada di dalam kereta ketika dia habis bekerja dan mahu pulang ke rumah pada pukul 6.20 petang. Ketua Polis Kuala Muda, Asisten Komisioner Adzli Abu Shah memberitahu Harian Metro bahawa kanak-kanak itu ditinggalkan di dalam kereta dengan tingkap ditutup dan enjin dimatikan.

Sebelum itu, si bapa telah menghantar anak perempuan sulungnya ke (SMK) Teluk Bayu, Sungai Petani pada pukul 7.30 pagi dan terus pergi ke tempat kerjanya tetapi terlupa tentang anak perempuannya yang baru tidur di tempat duduk belakang.

Mangsa seharusnya dihantar ke rumah neneknya di Kampung Bukit, Sungai Pasir sebelum ayah pergi bekerja.”

Ketika si bapa mahu pulang ke rumah, dia menyedari bahawa anak perempuannya tidak sedarkan diri di tempat duduk belakang. Panik, dia meminta pertolongan tetapi malangnya kanak-kanak itu disahkan meninggal dunia oleh anggota paramedik.

Mayatnya dibawa ke Jabatan Forensik Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar untuk bedah siasat. Kes ini kini disiasat di bawah Seksyen 31 (1) (a) Akta Kanak-kanak 2001.

A four-year-old girl died after her father left her in the car for ten hours at his workplace at Bukit Makmur, Sungai Lalang, Sungai Petani on 13 August. Her father realised his daughter was in the car when he was leaving work at 6.20pm.

Kuala Muda Chief Police, Assistant Commissioner Adzli Abu Shah told Harian Metro that the girl was left in the car with the windows closed and the engine switched off.

The father first sent his elder daughter to (SMK) Teluk Bayu, Sungai Petani at 7.30am and went to his workplace but he forgot about his younger daughter who was fast asleep in the backseat.

“The victim should have been sent to her grandmother’s house in Kampung Bukit, Sungai Pasir before the father went to work.”

When the father wanted to go back home he realized that his daughter was unconscious in the back seat. Panicked, he called for help but unfortunately the girl was later confirmed dead by the paramedics.

Her body was brought to the Forensic Department of Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar for a post mortem. The case is currently being investigated under Section 31 (1) (a) of the Children Act 2001.
